Before the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965) all Masses were conducted in Latin. Priests would use a Missale Romanum, like this one from the 1920s, to pray the Mass and other liturgies. Today Mass and liturgies are done in the vernacular, and Roman Missals are also printed in the vernacular.
