

This silver penny was minted in London, England around 1594-96. The front shows a profile of Elizabeth I with the phrase “E. D. G. ROSA. SINE. SPINA.” (Elizabeth by the grace of God a rose without a thorn) written around the edge of the coin. The back depicts a cross fourchée overlapping the Tudor coat of arms with the words “CIVITAS. LONDON.” (City of London) around the coin.
